Leukemia
SYMPTOMS. Signs of ACUTE LEUKEMIA may include infection of the throat, mouth
or lungs, abrupt high fever, bleeding from the nose or mouth, blood in the
urine, bloody stool and purplish-red skin bruises and sores. The signs of
CHRONIC LEUKEMIA may include appetite loss, weight loss, slight upper
abdominal distress or heaviness, swollen lymph nodes & increasing weakness.
CAUSES are unknown at this time although leukemia in mice, rats and chickens
are due to viruses. Leukemias are malignant blood-forming tissues disorders
that lead to abnormally high production of white blood cells which crowd out
other important blood elements. Acute leukemia mostly affects children and
chronic leukemia mostly affects adults over 30.
TREATMENT. Consult your doctor.
